FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University swimming and diving teams will welcome the University of Bridgeport for their final home meet of the season.
The Sharks, currently ranked fourth in NCAA Division II on the women's side and fifth on the men's side, will look to build on their already record-setting season Thursday afternoon.
Thiago Sickert (So., Vila Velha, Brazil),
Bryndis Hansen (So., Akureyri, Iceland),
Marco Aldabe (So., Alicante, Spain) and
Anton Lobanov (Fr., Novosibirisk, Russia) currently hold times in the top five in DII. Hansen and Lobanov have the fastest time in DII in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke, respectively.
NSU's women's team is undefeated in dual meets, a perfect 6-0, partly due to their dominant relay teams. The women currently have five relay teams in the top five in DII, the 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard freestyle relay, 800-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard medley relay. The men feature two relay teams in the top five in DII, the 400-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard medley relay.
Bridgeport currently ranks seventh in DII on the women's side and 18th on the men's side. Both their men's and women's teams are coming off of third-place finishes at the TCNJ Invitational.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at the NSU Aquatic Center.
